About the Local Medical Community

Vanderhoof boasts a well respected and tight-knit medical community. With doctors, nurses and specialty care professionals who have come here from around the world, we have a diverse range of skills and services available to the community.

Located across the street from the Omineca Medical Clinic, St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof is the medical centre for residents of Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, and Fort Fraser, and has the largest Emergency Room facility in the area. Among other specialties, the hospital is equipped for radiology, obstetrics, cancer treatment, and minor and some major surgical procedures.

Vanderhoof has a large population of seniors and is home to several care facilities that range from independent living to 24hr care. The doctors in Vanderhoof work closely with care staff in all of these facilities.
